My Story

I remember sitting in a computer lab at Mount Royal College in 1995 and hearing the internet dial-up tone for the first time. School was never a comfortable place for me to be, but I felt at home on the computer. The internet opened an entirely new realm of possibility for me. Downloading music, online messaging (ICQ), and building websites were just the beginning.

I’m a born-and-raised Calgarian with deep roots in the city and its establishments. A lifetime spent growing up in Calgary has resulted in a community of friendships going back to my childhood, playing hockey, water skiing and now a podcast.

When I think of where I’m most comfortable, it’s time spent cultivating or interacting within my community.

The natural progression of combining my passion for digital creativity with my community turned into something I could never have imagined, a digital marketing agency called Shortline Creative.

If I hadn’t sat down in that computer lab, I wouldn’t be here today. To become a part of my community, take a look at my podcast, The Calgary Sessions, to see if you can recognize yourself in any of my guests.

Guest Podcast Appearance

I had the chance to be on Mark Kondrat’s podcast, Let’s Meet for a Beer. Being the guest on a show was a big change for me. Usually, I’m the one asking questions!

Mark and I got into a bunch of things on this episode. We looked back on my first experience with the internet, DJing, the jobs I’ve had along the way, my path to starting my own business, The Calgary Sessions podcast and community.
